Schools have started here in Canton Vaud, and it is great to watch all the children start their new school year. There will be tears, smiles, nervousness and excitement. Teachers will face challenges and opportunities as will their students. We at Playball know that we help children so much in preparing for school. One way we do this is to improve a child's muscle tone, which helps them to be able to sit at their desks a little longer than they would ideally like to. Strong muscle tone helps the child to sit up and not slouch over their work. This in turn helps them to concentrate more in class.
Some children suffer from very low muscle tone and this is called Hypotonia. This is a good article explaining more about it and how we can help children with very low muscle tone. https://www.yourtherapysource.com/blog1/2018/10/14/how-to-help-children-with-low-muscle-tone-2/ Wishing everyone a good week!

Today I spent the morning with the lovely children at the local Jardin D'enfant in Bassins, the village just above Gland. What a great session we had! The children were on top form and we did so many different skills.
The teachers were really blown away at how Playball works and one even said how it is essential to every child to be able to do Playball. What a comment!! If you want Playball at your child's local creche please get in touch. Today we began a new class in the wonderful new gym hall in Bassins. The class was for 3 year olds, and quickly I realised that the children were keen to move and learn - a great place to be. Some of the children had been at school most of the day and I could tell that they were loving the freedom to move, run and exercise their little bodies.
What they don't know is that as they move their bodies, their brain is growing! I found this brilliant article which explains it all so well...... http://www.edutopia.org/blog/move-body-grow-brain-donna-wilson " Incorporating exercise and movement throughout the school day makes students less fidgety and more focused on learning. Improving on-task behavior and reducing classroom management challenges are among the most obvious benefits of adding physical activities to your teaching toolkit." |
About meI am passionate about children and their overall development and happiness. Playball focuses on the child from a physical, emotional and social stand point, which I love! Archives
