Today we began a new class in the wonderful new gym hall in Bassins. The class was for 3 year olds, and quickly I realised that the children were keen to move and learn - a great place to be. Some of the children had been at school most of the day and I could tell that they were loving the freedom to move, run and exercise their little bodies.
What they don't know is that as they move their bodies, their brain is growing! I found this brilliant article which explains it all so well...... http://www.edutopia.org/blog/move-body-grow-brain-donna-wilson " Incorporating exercise and movement throughout the school day makes students less fidgety and more focused on learning. Improving on-task behavior and reducing classroom management challenges are among the most obvious benefits of adding physical activities to your teaching toolkit."
